Finálem kajaků Světový pohár v Tróji skončil

Třídenní závody plné dramatických zvratů a se špičkovou mezinárodní účastí sledovaly tisíce diváků z plných tribun a na velkoplošné obrazovce s přehledem záběrů po celé délce trati. Pro diváky byl připraven i doprovodný program, takže vodácký areál v Praze-Tróji byl plný po celý víkend.

Italian athlete Molmenti was far ahead of the others, Hilgert took the silver medal!

Kajakář Daniele Molmenti nenašel konkurenci. Zajel vůbec nejlepší čas trati, kterému se nikdo nepřiblížil nejen ve finále, ale ani v semifinále – 92.62. Luboš Hilgert, který překvapil v semifinále, udržel dobrou formu a vybojoval ve finále druhou pozici (94.02). Třetí skončil poslední muž semifinále, Švýcar Michael Kurt (94.68). Ostatní kajakáři ve špičkově obsazeném závodě chybovali, čímž ztratili naději na medaile. Jeden dotek odsunul na čtvrté místo Němce Alexandra Grimma (96.47) a dva doteky na šesté místo slovinského favorita Petera Kauzera (96.97), který jinak zajel nejlepší čas po Molmentim. Vavřinec Hradílek dojel čtvrtý (96.82). Kompletní výsledky zde.

Dukátovou zradila „šprajda“, vítězství patří Schornbergové

Neuvěřitelná nehoda, uvolněná „šprajda“, připravila hned v úvodu její jízdy slovenskou favoritku a suverénní vítězku semifinále Janu Dukátovou o úspěch. Vítězství z finálové jízdy kajakářek si odnesla loňská mistryně světa Jasmin Schornbergová z Německa s časem 109.05, za ní se velmi těsně zařadila Britka Fiona Pennie (109.16). Třetího místa se nakonec v napínavém závodě dočkala česká závodnice Štěpánka Hilgertová (109.79). Irena Pavelková dojela pátá. Dukátová, i s velkým množstvím vody v těžko ovladatelné lodi, která chvílemi téměř mizela pod hladinou, prohraný závod za mohutného potlesku diváků přesto dokončila. Kompletní výsledky zde.

Finals will include two Czech athletes

Canadian John Hastings became the winner of the Semi-finals with the time 94:34 followed by the winner of the Heats, German athlete Alexander Grimm who was only four hundreds of second slower. The best time was performed by last – year´s winner of the World Cup Ranking, Peter Kauzer from Slovenia (94.57). The start list of the Finals includes also Daniele Molmenti from Italia and the Olympic winner from Athens, representative of Greece Benoit Peschier as well as the top British athlete Campbell Walsh.

Quite surprising has been the result of Luboš Hilgert 94.68, that brought him 4^th position and participation in the Finals. From the 8^th position, Vavřinec Hradílek passed to the Finals. Vít Přindiš, the 3rd Czech representative participating in the Semi-finals, unfortunately made a mistake on the second gate and finished on the 22^nd position.

Dukátová winning the Semi-finals, Hilgertová passed tightly to the Finals

Flawless run of Slovakian favourite Jana Dukátová assured the victory for her with great time 105.62. She was followed by Austrian athlete Violetta Oblinger-Peters (108.95) and German Claudia Baer (109.58). Czech representative Irena Pavelková finished on 9th position. Štěpánka Hilgertová placed on the 10th position kept the audience nervous until the very last run of the semi-final race. But Austrian winner of the Heats Corinna Kuhnle fought too long with the stream in the upstream gate No. 19 and her time placed her on the 11th position at the end.
