Kayaker Grimm was better in the second run

Representative of Germany Alexander Grimm, who reached time 79.50s in the first run and in the second time he was even faster - 79.19s, goes from the first place to the Sunday's semifinal. The second best time -79.42 s - belongs to Dariusz Popiela from Poland. The third place is occupied by two excellent kayakers - Daniele Molmenti from Italy and winner of World Cup Series 2009 Peter Kauzer from Slovenia, who reached the same time 79.70s.

The best Czech kayaker in today's qualification was Vít Přindis (80.18s) and the fifth place belongs to him. Vavřinec Hradílek, who was the third after the first run (80.74s), made a few mistakes in his second run - he missed one gate and touched two of them, so the penalization of 54s was added to his time. The place between these two Czech representatives belongs to the gold medalist from Athens Pierre Benoit Peschier from Greece (80.30s).

Also the third member of Czech team Luboš Hilgert, who reached time 82.10s, will start in the Sunday's semifinal.

Only 40 athletes from 79 athletes, who participated in today's race, will have the chance to compete in Sunday's race.
