Czech Canoe Slalom Team 2025 Announced: Double Duty for Satková and Prskavec, New Faces on Board

TROJA, May 4, 2025 – A weekend full of emotions, tight margins, and remarkable performances has revealed the Czech national canoe slalom team for the 2025 season. After three fierce selection races in the Czech Cup – culminating in Prague’s Troja – the lineup is set. Stars Gabriela Satková and Jiří Prskavec will once again compete in both canoe and kayak events, while fresh names bring new energy to the team.

Early Qualification in C1W for Martina Satková

Martina Satková secured her place after just two races. With a 2nd and 1st place finish on Trnávka and another podium in Troja, she was the first to celebrate. “It’s a huge relief,” she said. “Qualifying early is every athlete’s dream.” Her sister Gabriela joins her once again, along with rising star Adriana Morenová.

Tight Race in Men’s K1

The fight for the last kayak spot went down to the wire between Jan Bárta and Vít Přindiš. Both tied in points, but Bárta’s stronger finish in the final race tipped the scales. “I didn’t want to end my career like this,” admitted Přindiš. “I still have the form.”

Meanwhile, Olympic champion Jiří Prskavec triumphed in both C1 and K1, although he acknowledged the pressure:

“The results may look solid, but the path was intense. Especially in K1, it came down to the final run.”

Newcomers and Comebacks

The team welcomes back Vojtěch Heger, returning after injuries, and newcomer Adam Král joins the men’s C1. In women’s K1, Lucie Nesnídalová is back in action: “I'm thrilled. I didn’t even have any senior races in my calendar until now.”

Kayak Cross Lineup Finalized

The final kayak cross spots were also revealed:
Martin Rudorfer joins Jakub Krejčí and Matyáš Novák on the men’s side, while Lucie Nesnídalová completes the women’s trio alongside Olga Samková and Tereza Kneblová.
