A Week of Canoe Slalom Kicks Off with Sunday’s Paddleride
Prague-Troja will once again become the home of world-class canoe slalom from 5 to 7 June. A week full of sporting and cultural activities will begin on Sunday, 31 May, with the traditional Paddleride. The current entry list includes 380 boats from 42 countries across 5 continents. Fans can look forward to three days packed with adrenaline, emotion and an unforgettable atmosphere, just a few metres from the whitewater course. Primary and secondary school students will enjoy free admission on Friday, while children under 140 cm can enter free of charge on every competition day.
The World Cup in Troja has long been one of the most popular stops on the entire series — and for good reason. Spectators can get remarkably close to the athletes, experience thrilling head-to-head battles from just metres away, and meet some of the biggest names in Czech and international canoe slalom in person.
The Unique Paddleride Returns This Year
Held under the patronage of UNIQA financial group, Paddleride is a truly exceptional event with no equivalent anywhere else in the world. Fans and athletes have a unique opportunity to paddle together on the Vltava River — and this happens only once a year. This year’s Paddleride will take place on Sunday, 31 May, from 2:00 p.m. As tradition dictates, paddlers will set off from the boathouse of the Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Troja and head down the river, enjoying breathtaking views of Prague’s landmarks directly from the surface of the Vltava.
