Medals, emotions, entertainment, and lasting memories. The Prague World Cup shone brightly
The 22nd edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Prague-Troja is now behind us. Months of work by the organizing committee and a large group of dedicated volunteers have paid off. On the first weekend of June 2026, sporting history was once again written on the Troja slalom course. And the fans enjoyed the experience to the fullest.
The iconic Troja course once again provided world-class racing conditions for 236 athletes from 42 nations. The result was a top-level competition and an outstanding experience for all participants. Packed grandstands, knowledgeable and enthusiastic spectators, professional live commentary, and the event mascot, the lion Véna, all contributed to a unique atmosphere that makes the Prague World Cup one of the most attractive and distinctive events on the calendar of the
International Canoe Federation.
This year marked the 22nd time that Prague has hosted a Canoe Slalom World Cup. This remarkable legacy represents an important chapter in the history of the sport and is also a testament to the long-term and tireless efforts of the Czech Canoe Union in promoting and developing canoe slalom.
“I would like to congratulate the Czech athletes on their outstanding performances and victories on home water. Their success brought great excitement to the event and was a source of pride not only for the host nation, but also for thousands of fans in the venue and watching on television,” said the President of the International Canoe Federation, Thomas Konietzko.
“I would also like to thank the strong partnership between the Czech Canoe Union and the International Canoe Federation. Over many years, we have built a relationship based on mutual trust, cooperation, and a shared vision for the continued development of paddle sports. It is a partnership we can always rely on and one that the ICF greatly values,” he added on behalf of the ICF.
Great thanks go to the entire organizing committee, as well as to the coaches and athletes who, alongside their sporting duties, found time to help with the organization of the event.
We are already looking forward to next year. We will see you again in Troja 4–6 June 2027.
