In Prague – Troja the competition week started already on Wednesday (4 Sep) with the Extreme canoe slalom trials of the World Championships in extreme canoe slalom. Complete quartet of the Czech paddlers qualified for the further competition. The fastest time in the qualification was performed by Polina Mukhgaleeva and Pedro Goncalves.
Next special challenge for our paddlers coming to the ICF World Cup in Prague. The Riverside Cross Prague competition attracted the sport stars for the sixth time already last Tuesday (3). Competitors needed to fight with the water of Vltava River as well as to show their kills while throwing in the polo gate. The winners became in the K1 women´s category Luuka Jones of New Zealand, Pepe Gonçalves of Brasil among men´s K1, and Vojta Heger of the Czech Republic in C1 men.
The traditional Paddleride has already become a great invitation for the upcoming major sport event in Prague – Troja in upcoming weekend. This year, it starte don Monday 2 september from the boathouse in Troja going through the centre of Prague up to Kampa island. More than 60 participants took part in this year´s tour.
It will already be the 16th time when the Czech capital city welcomes the major sport event on the canoe slalom artificial course in Troja. The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup returns after two years and it will host up to 320 athletes from 39 countries. The organisers are hoping for the massive support from fans coming to the area.
Two traditional events for all sports fans and public will come back to Prague also this year. Just before the start of the main event – the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Prague on Friday 6 September 2019, all fans have a great chance to take part in traditional Paddleride. On Monday, 2 September, the tour across Prague starts at 16:00 from Boathouse in Troja.

Already at the beginning of September (6 – 8), the sports fans will have a great chance to meet the top paddlers in Prague again. The new European champion Amálie Hilgertová, World Cup leader Jiří Prskavec, the kayak U23 champion Tereza Fišerová and the foreign stars like Jessica Fox will come back to fight for medals in Prague – Troja. Now, the ticket sale starts of the upcoming ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup final and the CSLX World Championships.
The Czech canoe slalom athletes have started the season in great style. They manged to win medals at the European championships, junior events in Bratislava and Krakow and also took lead positions in the World Cup series. It is less than a month to the final of the ICF Canoe Slalom World cup in Prague (6. – 8. September) and we will also see the new world champions in extreme canoe slalom CSLX.
