Slovakian kayakers won gold and silver medal. Dukatova won the World Cup trophy

KaliskaElenSlovakian competitors hold both, first and secon place from the K1W final that had a dramatic ending. Elena Kaliska (on the picture), a really experienced kayaker, won the gold medal with the best time 105.59. Jana Dukátová won the silver medal (time 106.04, 2 seconds penalty), thanks to which she gained even this year victory in the World Cup serie. Surprisingly, the bronze medal belong to the Russian canoeist Marta Khariton, who finished the course in 106.71 seconds. However, the winner of the semifinal runs, Claudia Baer lost the medal for a mere nine hundredths of a second.

The world champion Corinna Kuhnle touched the gate three times (she got the first penalty to no avail after the first gate). The six seconds penalty placed her to the eighth place.

Crew Schroeder-Henze won the C2M semifinal, favoured Hochschorners didn't make it to the final

German pair David Schroeder and Frank Henze performed quite a forcible run in the canoe double men semifinal. Their time was 102.38. Russian crew Mikhail Kuznetsov and Dmitriy Larionov occupies the second position with a time 103.16. The third position is held by a Czech canoeists Tomáš Koplík a Jakub Vrzáň thanks to the time 104.51. One huge surprise was brought by the world champions brothers Hochschorners (SVK), who missed the gate and therefore, they will not take part in the final. Their national team colleagues cousins Škantárs, the winners of the heats, finished on the sixth place. It's a pitty that another Czech crew Václav Hradílek a Štěpán Sehnal holds the eleventh position and thus they will not participate in the final.

Baer won the K1W semifinal, there will be no Czech competitors in the final

Claudia Baer (GER) was the fastest kayaker in the single kayak women semifinal with a time 104.06. Dana Mann (SVK) follows her with the second fastest time 104.17. The world champion Corinna Künhle (AUT) placed herself on the third position by crossing the finish line in a time 104.19. She was actually the fastest, however she touched one gate which cost her the first position.

The second day in Troja – gold to Hradílek, World Cup trophy to Ježek

HradilekVav2The second day of the Canoe Slalom World Cup in Troja was enriched by the gold run of the kayaker Vavřinec Hradílek. To mention other really successful Czech canoeists: Kateřina Hošková gained the silver medal, albeit down fourth, Stanislav Ježek's place attached him the over-all victory in this year World Cup as this is the last race of the whole serie.

VIDEO  The first day in the canoe slalom World Cup Troja ended up being extraordinarily succesful for Czech canoeists – each one of them is going to participate in the semifinals in every single category. Except for canoe double, Czech paddlers always gave the lead to the qualification – Vavřinec Hradílek and Irena Pavlíková in kayak competition, and Kateřina Hošková and Stanislav Ježek in single canoes.

Men kayak turned out to be a continuation of the struggle between Vavřinec Hradílek (CZE) and the current world champion Daniele Molmenti (ITA). However, the Italian kayaker, who started as the last one thanks to his victory in the semifinal, wasn't able to overcome Hradílek's time (88.60) in the dramatic ending. Nonetheless, the difference was a mere 5 hundreths of a second. Thus, Vavřinec Hradílek will be given the gold medal, and Molmenti the silver one.

 

The bronze medal will belong to one of the best current kayakers Peter Kauzer (SLO), whose time 90.02 was good enough not only for the third place but even for the victory in the whole World Cup serie. The Czech kayaker Luboš Hilgert ended up on the fourth place with a time 90.19.

Rosalyn Lawrence won a gold medal as well as the victory in the World Cup serie

LawrenceRosAustralian Rosalyn Lawrence was the best in the women canoe single final with a time 118.10. Thanks to that, she gained the over-all victory in the World Cup series as her strongest rival Leanne Guinea (AUS) ended up down sixth.

 

Kateřina Hošková (CZE), the leader of all the previous runs, crossed the finish line in the second fastest time 121.20. Caroline Loir (FRA) won the bronze medal.

Slafkovsky won C1M final, Ježek ended up down fourth, but still won the World Cup serie

Eventually, Alexander Slafkovsky (SVK) gained the day in the single canoe men final. He clocked 94.85 and he's going to take the gold medal out of Troja. For only 8 hundreths slower was French kayaker Denis Chanut Gargaut. David Florence (GBR) holds the third position with a time 96.50.

Despite of the perfect results from the heats and semifinal the favoured Czech kayaker Stanislav Ježek obtained a penalty and ended up down on the fourth place. However, this position guaranteed him the victory in the overall ratings of this year World Cup serie, which ends right here in Troja.

Hošková faultless even in semifinal

HoskovaKatKateřina Hošková (CZE) performed a perfect run in single canoes women semifinal, by which she definitely confirmed her leader position she gained after heats. Even though she slowed down in the finishing straight, her time was undoubtedly the best (121.84). The second fastest time 125.47 belongs to British canoeist Mallory Franklin, the third position holds Qianqian Teng (CHN), who was only one tenth slower than Franklin.
