Satkova sisters dominated short slalom at World Cup in Troja

Sisters Gabriela and Martina Satkova shared the podium in the women’s canoe category. In women’s kayak, victory went to Jessica Fox, while Jakub Grigar triumphed among the men and Adam Burgess recorded the fastest time in the men’s canoe final.

Paddlers and Organisers Prepare for the Czech Debut of Short Slalom

tk 26The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Prague - Troja kicks off tomorrow, 27 June 2025. Friday's program will feature the long-awaited debut of the short slalom event - a revived and dynamic discipline. The entire Czech national team is set to compete, including last year's home race winners Gabriela Satková and Jiří Prskavec. These long-time team leaders will take on both canoe and kayak events, giving the Czech team a medal opportunity on each day of competition.

Ceremonial Bib Handover at the Mayor's Residence

primatorAs is tradition, both Czech and international stars of canoe slalom gathered at the residence of the Mayor of the City of Prague for a ceremonial reception ahead of the upcoming Canoe Slalom World Cup. Among those who received their start numbers were Czech representatives Jiří Prskavec, Jakub Krejčí, and sisters Martina and Gabriela Satková, as well as current Olympic medalists from Paris, including Jessica and Noemie Fox, canoeist Nicolas Gestin, and kayaker Giovanni de Gennaro.

R31 3268Prague – Troja has hosted the Canoe Slalom World Cup twenty times already. Since the first race in 1995, a lot of water has flowed through the Troja course. Now, the most popular race of the canoeing season is returning to Prague once again – from June 27 to 29. Organizers are expecting athletes from five continents and promise a spectacular event. Olympic champions from Paris as well as Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Lukáš Rohan will be present, although Rohan will not be competing this time.

Three days of top-level racing and the Paddleride as a starter

R31 3142The Canoe Slalom World Cup returns to Prague-Troja. From June 27 to 29, 2025, the artificial slalom course will welcome the best competitors from around the world. The race in Troja is the third stop of a total of five events in the International Canoe Federation (ICF) World Cup series. Home favorites will be present at the start, led by Tokyo Olympic champion and recent European champion from Paris Jiří Prskavec, as well as European silver medalist Gabriela Satková. The week full of canoe slalom will traditionally begin with the Paddleride, which this year is eagerly awaited even by the athletes themselves.
